News and Reviews of Monster High Dolls, Plush Toys, and More!

Monster High's Facebook's not a place I want to be on. That is all.

So, yeah, with this whole 'Voting' thing, I decided to frequent the Monster High Facebook page. Y'know, catching the poll results. Maybe check out some other announcements and posts.

Worst. Idea. Ever.

Some kid posted one of Picklepud's images with a small 'Not mine' message. I told her that she might give proper credit and suddenly I get jumped by all directions because I'm 'Mean'. And people just don't get it and start calling me immature since, y'know, answering 'You might want to give the artist proper credit' with a 'You're hurting my feelings!' is SO mature.

And let's not even start about how they reacted on the Webisode breaks and how they insult the dolls from the poll (Bloodgood, Scara, Arachne) that they didn't vote for.

Dear Sweet Jesus, I'm going to stick to Livejournal and this place.

Mint-in-box enthusiasts are stupid. She was a kid! I'm a kid! And I'm starting to hate facebook. It's stupid updates, the morons who cuss(I don't do that on the internet, but I'll say the f word if I stub my pinky toe), the jerks who think they can get away with stuff. I hate the facebook people. They think the updates are necessary, and they're not. The newest is this thing that shows you the people that viewed your page. You have to take a stupid test to prove your human, which just gives you stupid emails that are meaningless! Puts me in a bad mood.

Thanks for agreeing. I always like to quote Blinky (From a Transformers webcomic) in that.

'They want to be free!'

That's why I appreciate the Monster High Boxes. If you're careful, you can save the box AND get the doll out. Everybody's happy!

I hate to hear that a kid was insulted for enjoying her toy.  That's ridiculous, and Dead Fast Ghoulia isn't even scarce.  Most have sold on eBay for under $50.

Militant MIB people piss me off, because they sucked all the fun out of collecting in the 1990s, and got all the cheap, kid-friendly comics canceled.  I still miss being able to buy stuff and just enjoy it, and not have to pay a small fortune because it's a "collectible."

I do respect where you were coming from when you jumped in there, P-Girl. And Picklepud really does do gorgeous shots. We all have issues which we think are worth fighting for that others don't. You said what you felt you needed to say.

@ Triumvirate:

I kinda see where you're coming from.... but I'm one that if I am in the power to do something, no matter how small or useless it will be in the end, I'll try it. I don't know if the saying 'If you never shot, it's always missed' has an English variation, but I like to live by it. Doesn't help that I really respect Picklepud and she often laments actions like these because it's often her shots that get stolen. (Not all that surprising, they're GORGEOUS)

@Lucy: I don't quite agree with that sentiment. I don't mind them telling what they got and how happy they are. In fact, I like that. Kid's excitement shouldn't be squashed. I remember this kid placing up a video with her Comic Con Ghoulia, she was so happy she tore the box apart to get her doll. You don't want to know what all those 'Mint-in-box' enthusiasts said to the poor kid.

I have never posted at all on the MH facebook. The only time I have ever interacted with the MH Facebook was to vote in the poll for the daughter of Arachne. I have been tempted to post there a few times, but always thought better of it.

And since I don't choose to make my presence known there, I like the MH Facebook. There are a lot of pictures there that I enjoy seeing and occasionally some good information revealed. Of course many of the pictures are stolen, but I realized long before Monster High came out that nothing you post on the interent is sacred. That is why I never watermark any of my drawings or pictures or bother saying "do not steal," or whatever. Those things make no difference. It's unfortunate, but I choose not to care because there is nothing I can do about it other than not steal other's pictures myself.

I saw that interaction you had on Facebook. I didn't know your name before that, but I could tell it was you by your posts. I was thinking, "Oh no, P-girl, what have you done. This will not go well." I wish I could have helped you avoid that, but it was too late.

Heh, it was my own fault, to be honest. This isn't the first time I heard about it's reputation as a wretched hive. But would I listen? No. I can be dumb like that.

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but that is why I don't do Facebook.  Because there are complete numbskulls who run around and take offence from onstuctive critisim.  *Insert sigh*

Our lives are all very sad in that aspect.  Sorry you got so attacked there, P-girl. :-(
