Okay, I know I am a bit late in posting this but here it goes. What I have gotten done so far is the top hat for the good witch, the pill box hat for the flying monkey, and the heel bases for all of the shoes. I am still working on the jacket for the monkey ( the embroidery is a bit more involved than I thought it would be, but definitely worth it) I have also gotten the wings dyed (but have not gotten them photographed yet).
I would have the shoes for the good witch done by now, but I cannot find my shoe glue to connect the top part with the base.
I also got the dog (or Toto) for the Dorothy done this morning. I'll get pictures done soon.
Here is a picture of what I have done so far:
As you can see, there have been a few changes from the original sketches. The top set of heel bases have holes to emulate the bubble that she travels in. The second one down is for the Scarecrow doll, they kind of look like they were carved out of zebra wood (or marble depending on the upper part used). The next two are for the Tin Man and Dorothy dolls. The Tin Man ones are made to look like they have been cast from metal. The ones for Dorothy have a lot of indents in them ( it makes me think of a disco ball). The blackish looking heel bases are by far my favorites, they have a calla lilly carved into them on the inside of the heel. Yes, I said the inside of the shoe. The next ones are almost plain in comparison, and are for the Lion doll. The last ones are for the Monkey doll and have tiny wings carved into the heels (you have to look really, really close).
