First off I just want to say that I like the Headless Headmistress Bloodgood prototype doll. If it was in stores now, I would buy it. Even before seeing or knowing of the pics, I was thinking about making a custom of her.
With that being said, the one that thing that makes her cool can also be seen as a bad thing. Let's face it...she's headless and she's carrying around her own head. A lot of parents are already giving Mattel grief about Clawdeen supposedly teaching kids about waxing and shaving. Imagine what it will be like if Mattel decides to put up the Headmistress? If you're a wrestling fan, you'll remember the Al Snow action figure incident a few years back. For those that don't know, WWE wrestler Al Snow would come out to the ring carrying one of those hair mannequin head you see in a styling salon. So when they made his action figure, it had a tiny mannequin head that came with it. Well, parents complained that it looked like a severed head and it taught that it was okay to be mean to females, etc. Anyway, Wal-mart and other retail stores had to pull the figure from the shelves.
So, as much as I like the Headless Headmistress Bloodgood concept, I just don't see how Mattel could pull off marketing it to kids w/o the drama.
