RE: the extra torsos

I got some for myself and for my daughter (she was supposed to get hers on X-mas) but she found mine, so I made her come up with complete bios for each doll. She was a bit upset about not having a bee torso (I have that one hidden).

$1 socks! The $1 section of target has MH socks right now - we grabbed a bunch. They're pretty cute, the best design for us being the blue argyle (like the bg of this site). They also had sets of MH notepads in the halloween section, I passed on those since more notepads is about the last thing we need around here. If you're in a target check both sections as well as the doll aisle!

Hey, parents! I've been making Monster High-themed headband wigs! My daughter loves them! They are a great alternative (and a cheaper one) than the official wigs, which can get pretty hot.

I've got a Ghoulia one listed on Listia.com right now. I've also made some in the following ghouls' colors: Lagoona, Draculaura, Cleo. I'm working on: Nefera, Spectra and more. And once I get some white yarn, I can make Frankie. Please check out my Lista listing and let me know what you think. I made my first one of these last year for a Draculaura costume I made for my daughter for Halloween.

If you are interested in ordering any, I will be happy to make customs!

That is so awesome, and way cheaper than trying to purchase new starter packs for the dolls...which, of course, I've already done.  Thanks for the heads up!

Finally! Extra torsos and limbs!! In case any of you missed the thread, mattel is selling an official set of torsos and upper limbs for all the 1st wave CAMs -- 5 torsos, 3 sets of limbs for about $12 shipped.

And they take paypal! So excited, we can finally get the 3-eyed ghoul and give the rest perfectly matched torsos. yay!

Denise - I'll post some pics of her bookshelf house once we finish decorating the walls. I think I even have some old pics on here of the shelves I did a few months ago...I got a bit sidetracked with a water leak and subsequent remodel. Lol. My daughter loved getting to pick out the scrapbook paper we used on the walls and also the character pictures we printed out and glued on for wall decoration. Its also nice to have the extra storage when she isn't playing with the house (i bought some fabric storage bins that go on the shelves when she isn't playing).

I like Lagoona, too! Personality wise, she's one of my favorite characters :)

I'm really hoping they start releasing the specials and also the webisodes on dvd!My daughter loves to watch them over and over :)

Denise - I agree, it is great bonding time! My daughter and I just finished up her MH bookshelf house today and it was such fun to put together with her.

LOL, plus my thirty something eyes seems to be failing me and her 9 yr old eyes are still young. We were shopping in Meijer and I found a DT Abbey i was all set to buy myself, since I collect the Abbey dolls. She looked at me weird and said "but mom, her lipstick is all smeared and some of it's on her cheek." *sigh* she was right! It seems, I need to take her doll shopping with me from now on to inspect the dolls for flaws before I buy them!

I think it causes our daughters to see us in a new light! We were once little girls, too, and still have some of that little girl inside our grown up, mommy selves. Wouldn't you have loved to have a mom who collected dolls with you? I sure would have! :)
