News and Reviews of Monster High Dolls, Plush Toys, and More!

Most of you May say "That's an easy one, its Frankenstein." But does that mean the monster or the doctor. The monster's name is not really Frankenstein, that's the Doctor that made the Monster. Dr. Fraankenstein made the monster so the monster is Frankenstein's Monster. So the real question is Which one is her father?

My Theory: Frankie was made so that leads me to believe that the doctor is her Father and not the monster. The Doctor is a scientist and would be making new things all the time. It would make sense for him to make a daughter. So that would make Frankenstein's monster her brother.

According to the book series and Frankie's doll diary, Frankie was created by the monster, not the doctor. Her parents (Frankenstein's Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein) are both highly intelligent academics and her dad is an inventor with his own laboratory where he made Frankie and her pet.

I understand why you would ask this question about who made her, because frankly it doesn't make sense that her parents were able to create her. Historically they were simpletons. But it is what it is. Monster High has taken some liberties with some of the characters in terms of their legendary lineage, and they took a lot of liberties with Frankie's in particular. The doctor who made her parents has no involvement in her backstory really.

If that is the case then the Doctor would be like her grandfather

Yes, something like that.

I haven't been able to read the book yet but her diary wasn't to informative
The diary is not too informative, that's true, but it does give some clues. For example when Frankie's Mom takes her to the Maul Frankie comments that her Mom shops for outfits that all look like "old wedding dresses" (an apparent reference to the Bride of Frankenstein's outfit from the old movie). And when it rains her Dad teaches her how to "stomp puddles" (an apparent reference to the famous stomping walk of Frankenstein's monster). It's subtle, but I think still shows who her parents are supposed to be.
Now that you point it out like that it is alot clearer. thanks. that helps alot wit the oc i wanted to make
Cool. Glad I could help. Frankie's one of my favorite MH characters.

well going on the book the monster and the bride are frankie's grandparents. and she wore "Grandma Stein's Dress" to the school dance in the first book.

while the Mattel version is the monster and the bride.

but both of her fathers mattel and book are the monster but with the doctor's brain. 2 in 1 type thing. least that is how i see it.

I didn't know about either of these details. We don't actually have either one of the books, we've just read the parts of them that were available free online. The monster inheriting the original Doctor Frankenstein's brain explains a lot. Though, it doesn't explain why Frankie's Mom is intelligent also.

well it didn't say anything about the doctors brain that is just my bit on it, mostly cuz both book and mattel franken fathers act like the doctor making things and all that. as for the mothers in the book i don't really get how she came to be. mostly like made for the viktor by his father i'm guessing.
