Tips to stay well when dealing with incoming merch. orders.

First of all, let me just say that I am well thus far, and that I hope that everyone else here is well, too.

I recently ordered some online merch. with Birthday money, and I am thinking seriously about how I'm going to stay well....when the latest news has placed a few Amazon employees in the path of The Corona Virus.

I already know that I neglected to wash a few doll items that were early Birthday gifts (I haven't touched them directly as of super recently), and I know that when I receive the Birthday items, I'll need to keep myself well with even more vigilance, so....

Here are a few unofficial tips for everyone here, just in case any of them would be helpful, with regard to our collective wellness:

1.) I know for a fact that I'm the only one here who has ever tried to eat a Barbie doll (JK, of course! LOL!), but, in all seriousness, even though you're going to keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth / away from your face, in general, when you're de-boxing any new Barbie items, you'll want to make sure that you wash everything that you de-box before any kiddos handle it.

2.) You might want to cleanse anything, Barbie-related or otherwise, that has come from a Chinese factory, even if you're the only one who's going to handle it, just in case, 'cause even the new Wellness Barbies could be contaminated. Irony of ironies, of course, but still....

3.) The virus sticks to plastic items for longer than it sticks to other surfaces, but it sticks to often-handled surfaces for the longest amount of time.

4.) Don't panic; just keep yourself clean and isolated.

5.) When properly cleaned (with soap and warm water), Barbie can be very entertaining while you're isolated.

I hope that everyone here is able to stay well, because nobody knows just how long this pandemic is going to continue. The latest news is giving me the impression that things may not be back to normal in some places until July, but, fortunately, it's clear that if we all follow the example of China, and avoid contact with the world outside of our homes for as long as it takes, we can get beyond this situation.

Hello, add to # 3, after you're done cleaning something....and washing your hands with warm water and soap, you might find that pure coconut oil (for beauty purposes) makes your hands feel very soft and comfortable. That's what I'm using now, and it melts and softens very, very easily. It also works for one's arms, neck, upper chest, etc.

Hi Wolfie,

The longest the virus remains active is 72 hours so really there is nothing to worry about concerning Barbie!

Keep well!
