News and Reviews of Monster High Dolls, Plush Toys, and More!

Ok, I saw a couple threads on here about finding Monster High Ghouls at thrift stores and yard sales, but they all looked ancient.  I wanted to share my super find today.  These two lovely ghouls were sitting next to each other at the smallest Salvation Army I've ever seen (near my house).  Funny enough they were complete with shoes and everything.  Their hair was slightly messed up, but after a good brushing they looked brand new.  Now here's the awesome part....I only paid a whopping $2.43 for them both.  :) I would say that is a steal!  I was pretty skeptic about finding any MH dolls at these type of stores but I was proven wrong today. Post your lucky finds too!

I've always been extremely jealous of others' thrift store finds. I've been to dozens of thrift/secondhand stores, yet haven't come across a single MH doll. Tons of old Barbies and whatnot, but no MH. :(

Congrats on your find, though! And what a steal!! They're in fantastic condition. I'm still new to collecting - which line are they from?

lol Well, Im a thrift store junkie.  I always look for the MH dolls but this is the first time Ive found any.  They are the Schools out Clawdeen and Classroom Draculaura.

Sweet! Great find! I've never seen MH in a charity shop here, but I have had some really lovely finds. I found a 1960s Patch once for 99p, she's worth about £30 resale and in amazing condition considering her age. I've found Pippa dolls from the 1970s, some nice 80s dolls,  even Bratzillaz fashion packs MIB for £3 each lol.

Some day i'll find MH, and then i'll be happy heh. Also some day, i'll find a few vintage Sindy dolls and do a dance of crazy joy.

lol awesome! I was pretty suprised to see them sitting there on the shelf.  They were waiting for me :) lol

I've had three good finds so far...

  • Snow Bite, in box, with some lip rub-off; ended up repainting her lips and recoloring her irises -- $5
  • Dead Tired Ghoulia, with just her clothes and slippers, hair was a tragic mess, but fixable -- $0.47

And today's haul from a Just Between Friends sale... All of the following were $3 apiece:

  • Basic Frankie, missing stand, earrings and shoes.
  • Basic Draculaura, complete.
  • Basic Clawdeen, missing jacket and shoes.
  • Cleo and Deuce set, complete.
  • Holt Hyde, complete.
  • Dawn of the Dance Clawdeen, complete.

All of this for a grand total of $22... I nearly died.

I was able to find the Create-A-Monster lab at Goodwill when it FIRST came out BRAND NEW for $19.99 and they were usually $32 plus dollars in stores at the time.

I love that Draculaura! I'm so jealous. XD I'm in class right now, but afterwards I'm going to stop by the thrift store and see if I luck out. :)

awesome find!

This XD

I'm sorry I have to say this- I sing thrift shop in my head whenever I see this post XD

Last summer I found Gloom Beach Clawdeen and Ghoulia (with shoes) at a Yard Sale. I paid I think maybe $2 for them each, I can't remember. I used the Ghoulia for the Comic Book Club FP and Clawdeen is just kinda kicking around.

I rarely have luck finding stuff at Thrift Stores aside from Goodwill Outlet, but alas I've never found anything MH at the outlet yet and I'm currently too preggers to visit there lol

I'm hoping this summer I can find some more dolls at yard sales now that they're a lot more popular and easier to find (for the most part).

That song has been in my head all day XD.  I had no luck at the other thrift stores around here today...bummer lol
