News and Reviews of Monster High Dolls, Plush Toys, and More!

I was just wondering how many guy MH collecters there are on MHD? What drove you to collect? Do you collect other dolls/action figures?

And do you find that people who also collect dolls understand you as opposed to those who dont?

If you could also add your age to the discussion, that would be cool too.

I'd love to hear your story and im sure other collecters would love it too! ^_^

Thanks!

I just turned 40 and am collecting these because I have two daughters age 11 and 9. Because I'm collecting them with my daughters nobody seems to mind much, though a few people I guess thought it was weird that I had my own collection of them too and was not just collecting these for my daughters to enjoy. My wife is nice about it but doesn't completely get it. Not that I really care what people think. But now I'm hooked, so I probably never would have started collecting them if not for my kids, but now, even if they get tired of them I'll probably still collect some of them for myself whenever I see one I really like.

When my kids were little I did start occasionally buying special Barbies, like some the dolls from the series of princesses from around the world or just different dolls that caught my eye for whatever reason. I leave all of those in the boxes and I figured someday I'd either display them or just give them to my kids when they grew up.

When I was kid I collected action figures. I still like action figures but don't really buy many because we spend so much money on dolls now. If I had boys instead of girls I'd probably try to get them into action figures so we could collect those together.

Hi im 13 (straight male) and i collect Mh dolls and i dont care what people think. My sister thinks that its for gay boy`s but i ignore her.

Im a 14 year old boy and I do collect monster high dolls. I started collecting when my old best friend took an interest. I used to to collect barbies (for the outfits) but not anymore. To be honest, I'm terrified of people finding out about my doll collecting. At my school, rumors would spread and I do not need that drama.

I only have my close friends know about this.

True . If one of my friend were to find out then they would ruin my life

im a dude! YAY! lol. i always had dolls growing up, so now its like, no big deal at all. before MH i collected princess ariel, whom i lurve :D.

I'm 27 and I collect them. Its weird cause I've never collected dolls before. Im really into comics and have a large comic book collection as well as statues, busts and action figures. I just saw the MH dolls and thought they were really cool and really well done and that the concept was awesome. I resisted as long as I could but eventually I caved and started collecting.

i love this! i wish people would stop hating but thats the way the world is. im glad we have sites like this that make us feel safe. gay or streght, THESE DOLLS ROCK

I'm 16. I started collecting them with my younger sister because of something they had got going on. It was different, and I liked that.

I also collect Skylanders and U.B. Funkeys.

I'm 21, and I started collecting the dolls because they're DROP DEAD FABULOUS. I feel like I should mention that I'm openly gay because somehow that'll work it's way into the conversation anyway. I'm also a character designer, so something that I personally value is the notion that people have different bone structures and body types and I LOVE how the dolls are different in that regard.

I collect Universal Monsters, Munsters, and the Adams Family memorabilia so MH is just kind of an extension of my Monster collection...or at least that's how I see it. My ex-girlfriend collected MH and actually first introduced me to the line. She collected dolls and I collect Monsters. Dolls + Monsters = MH. Pretty simple.

I also collect lots of action figures especially 80's properties like Masters of the Universe and Transformers. I was a child of the 80's.

I've found out through out the years that the only real people that understand collectors are other collectors themselves. Most people think it's wierd that a straight male would collect dolls but to be honest MH is a very small part of my overall collection.

I'm a teenage guy and I collect MH dolls. My twin sis LOVES these dolls and LaLaLoopsy dolls. There always laying around our house. One day, I picked up Deuce and found his snake mo-hawk pretty awesome XD and then she got Clawd who has the coolest gold watch...and then Holt who has his eyebrow pierced and tattoos...and then Jackson who has orange shutter shades...and now Gil! So the guy dolls kind of pulled me in. My sister jumped on the fact I liked the dolls and bought me my own set of the guys. Of course, I got Cleo and Ula in the giftsets along with the guys. Cleo and Ula are okay... I have to admit I just like the guys.

NO, I am not gay!!! I have a girlfriend. XP
