"the ghouls of monster high are having a ghouls night out and to top off the night theyve won tickets to go to a Niki Minaj concert!and get to meet Miss Niki Minaj herself!"
Lol I really like that Catty .---. I must have.

Lagoona looks so fabulous in all the art! I hope her doll is just as gorgeous.

So Catty is officialy a singer, and a Nicki Minaj in doll form. Whoa, Mattel, NO ONE sees what you did there *shakes head, sarcasm mode ON*

Am I missing the part where she's 'obviously Nicki Minaj' or is it stated somewhere?
I am really put off this doll now haha.
Well it's probably easier this way for them to do it they probably don't want to end up like MGA and Lady GaGa

I am an adult collector who is only vaguely aware of Nicki Minaj, and I definitely could not even tell you one of her songs. I didn't think Katy Perry or Nicki Minaj when I saw her the first time.   This doll is gorgeous by herself, doesn't have to look like anyone else.  One of the best things about Monster High is the individuality of the characters, it is why I started collecting them.

i totally agree with this! I mean she coulda been in any outfit and packaged with a microphone and people would complain. Whts so wrong with those two stars anyhow?
on a side note i meant to say to you a while ago timmel, i know you were having issues with Lagoonas leg fins i think everyone has that issue i think youre supposed to keep the clear elastics around them that they package them with. this solved all my leg fin issues.
but i get the feeling you have other reasons you dont need more lagoonas haha
just thought id try and help!

I believe that she was inspired by Nicki because she dresses in all pink (plus pink hair) is black, and, of course, is a singer. Anyone here familiar with Nicki's "Black Barbie" nickname? Catty is pretty much this. Imagine her being pale with blonde hair and you pretty much have a Barbie.

I need to make one thing clear: I am not complaining. This is just my opinion of Catty, okay? I am not expecting Mattel to rush and change her just because I don't particularly like her or anything, but I think that it's pretty obvious who she was inspired by.

In my eyes, she seems inspired by Jem. Pink hair, crazy makeup, glamour and glitter, fashion and fame....

So, rather than everyone getting hung up on who specifically Catty Noir's 'obviously' supposed to represent, let's agree to adhere to the adage "Your Mileage May Vary." ;)

Yeah, I honestly cant see any singular pop star in her design and I honestly dont think there was supposed to be. Like Triumvirate said I think a lot of current pop singers dress very similar and they were just going for a general pop star vibe. I have to say that I'm liking this doll a lot more as a singer who is part of the Ghouls Night Out line.  I originally thought she was supposed to be a bad luck themed black cat for Friday the 13th and when I saw the first posted pic it didn't fit "bad luck kitty" at all. She works much better as a pop star lol.

i see nicki minaj in her, but it might be because i WANT to see nicki minaj in her XD even drew her more like Nicki
