News and Reviews of Monster High Dolls, Plush Toys, and More!

ok so we still seem to have a great deal of confusion about what is and isn't acceptable to upload to this website, so i'm going to do a bullet point list for you all:

1: If you did not create the image, you cannot post it. This goes for photos as well as artwork.

On a related note, please don't upload doll maker images. They're just spammy.

2: If it is not Monster High related, you cannot post it. (This means no EAH images either ok?)

How to get around this? If you want to show off your new non MH doll to the community, make sure there's a Monster High doll in the image as well. (Sneak Lorna in to photobomb!)

3: Sexual or violent content will NOT be tolerated. No naked dolls in suggestive poses, no art of characters in adult situations. No gore or fetishes, and enough with the damn murderers!

Please remember, I read every single character bio to ensure there is nothing inappropriate in the text as well.

4: Please please please edit your uploads. Do not upload 20 of the same image, or the same thing from slightly different angles. Pick the best and upload those only. On a similar vein, PLEASE don't upload 200 images at once. Try to limit your uploads to 20 or so images in one day. I honestly can't see how anyone could have more than that many photos to upload in one 24 hour period unless they're duplicating or saving them up to spam the queue.

I DO have to go through these all, to make sure nothing slips through (I still don't always get it right, i'm only human.) so if you consider, if let's say 3 users decide to empty their entire SD card into the photo queue, that's hours or work as I sift through hundreds and hundreds of images and delete all those duplicates. Please be considerate, don't spam the gallery.

5: Title your images and give a description, also rotate them so they aren't sideways or upside down.

6: Glitched photos... stop uploading them. If you see that the image has glitched out and is displaying half grey or black or something, don't upload it.

7: NO photos of real people. This it a protection issue, we have a lot of young users and it's an effort to keep you all safe. So please don't try to post up photos of yourself or your friends or whatever. If there's a real person in the photo and I can see their face, I cannot accept it. (Hands and legs are totally AOK though lol)

Any image that breaks any of these rules will be deleted and if you have 3 or more in one upload, I will delete every single one of your photos in the queue without even looking at them. Continue to upload things that breach these simple rules and I add you to my "no photos" list, and every upload of yours will be deleted and your entire gallery removed.

I hope I have made myself perfectly clear. I am sick to death of spam in my photo queue, it wastes time and slows down the process for everyone else.

These rules are not difficult to follow, so please read them and take them to heart. A tidy photo queue and a happy photo mod makes for fast approval of new images.

You do know that most "glitches" do not show up in thumbnail view of a photo. So if the same person is uploading a glitched photo over and over again, you might want to inform them that its glitched. Repeat offenders likely don't know that the photos are being uploaded to the site with lines, greyed out sections, etc.

If they show up for my thumbnail, they should show up for yours, it's an identical thumbnail. If I notice it's the same photos over and over i'll contact the user, but it just seems to be people uploading "all" from a camera or phone with no consideration of what they're uploading. I'll get like 15 images of the same thing, several blurred or glitched out so you can't make out what they are. Feels like they just connect the camera up and go "upload all"

MHdolllover, this is likely from before I became photo mod. We had some pretty lackadaisical mods previously who'd just let anything through.

These are my rules, you don't like em, go somewhere else.

I am the photo mod and I feel these are perfectly reasonable rules.

I can get up to 50 images uploaded a DAY, and I have to check each and every one to make sure they aren't offensive or inappropriate or might get us into trouble. It's actually fairly time consuming and having to wade through multiple users clogging the queue with stuff that's a flagrant disregard of my rules (For the last time guys, no photos of yourself! We don't want wierdos able to identify you! It's for your safety for goodness sake.)

I have a "delete all from this user" button, but it's still very tiring to see the same users continue to ignore the rules. It's just plain rude really. Just because you don't like a rule, doesn't mean you get to ignore it. That's not how the world works. It sure as heck wouldn't fly telling a cop "I don't agree with your speeding laws so i'm not going to take this speeding ticket!" would it? And it's not gonna fly here.

To anyone else, if you see something you don't think should have been uploaded (I am only human, I do make mistakes) please alert me either through the chatbox (I'm usually online) or pm me. If you want to know why your image is being rejected constantly, likewise, ask. I'm happy to explain and help users, I know how much we all want to share our images of Monster high and that's awesome.

Likely not Ruby, even with credit, you don't have permission and proving you do is impossible. Unless they upload it themselves, I cannot allow it. It may have snuck through because it's hard for me to know all the time, but that sort of thing shouldn't be allowed no. It opens the door to far too much picture theft. "oh I credited!" isn't an excuse when an artist or photographer didn't want their stuff shared like that.

Hope you understand.

Quick question, I posted a photo recently from someone's Flickr account. I gave them credit, which linked to their page. Is this still acceptable?

Oh hey, so rule number three:
"3: Sexual or violent content will NOT be tolerated. No naked dolls in suggestive poses, no art of characters in adult situations. No gore or fetishes, and enough with the damn murderers!"
Does this mean nude dolls in general aren't allowed or just ones in 'suggestive' poses?

Nude dolls i'll totally accept, it's the ones spreading their legs and exposing their moulded panties I won't hahah.

Gosh, thanks for doing it all yourself. You can count on me to upload just the good ones!

Is Rule 2 for the entire site or is it applicable everywhere except the Other Doll Lines Section? I am wondering because it would seem that particular area would be for anything not relating to MH.

question I'm planing a custom American girl turned big abbey bominable can I post that?

why can't we show leaked images?

Because Mattel get angry and send irate letters and threaten to shut down the site.
