News and Reviews of Monster High Dolls, Plush Toys, and More!

NEWS: I mentioned this listing to Mattel and it sounds like they might be looking at it to see what complaints people are having! So post your complaints and hopefully we can get the problems fixed!

I got my Gloom Beach dolls plus Original Draculaura lately and I've been upset with the quality of the dolls. They have flaps of skin (plastic) on their legs and hands (GB) and the paint used on Count Fabulous (Original) is noticeably cheap compared to before. I got some before and they never had these problems.

A person from Mattel said that unless the company gets at least 3,000 complaints they won't fix the problem. I've also heard that often with toy makers (ex. China, Taiwan, Japan, etc.) the first two waves are extremely good quality to get people hooked and get the contract from the company. After that they find shortcuts to make the toys cheaper. So please call and complain about these problems:

~Cheap plastic for body (especially the flaps of plastic)

~Paint Quality

~Legs

I know 3,000 seems like a lot, but if each of us calls Mattel and complains and ask a friend as well to do so, we'll easily reach that number. So spread the word on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. It just takes a few minutes and we'd have a chance of better quality MH dolls in the future.

P.S. Deuce, I understand you have connections with Mattel. Would you please talk to them about it? I really do love the dolls, but I like quality and I'm sure others do to.

I agree since I managed to get the only good Gloom Beach Frankie left (one had flaps on left knee and other had too small of a head). Also I think the whole leg thing will reach 3,000 in no time. None of my dolls legs broke off, but I know it happens. Paint quality goes for the lighting bolt on basic Frankie's belt and my Gloom Beach Frankie has some yellow paint of the bottom of her shoe (good thing it's only the bottom) too. My Ula D's Count Fabulous' paint quality is good

the legs need to be fixed and the ball joins in the arms need to be more rounded. and frankie's bed needs to have the crank be tighter. i have a hair tie holding it in place so she doesn't "Feel like all the electricty is rushing to" her "head..." {taken of the box} pinched my finger and draculaura's coffin last week. =T.T= other then that the beds are ok. my GB dolls have had some skin flap problems which i fixed. my holt's leg came off, and my GB draculaura's right hand is shaped weird.

That is so not cool!

I'm SO with you! Have you noticed that the paint isn't always consistent? For Christmas my mom got me Frankie Stein. My friend also got me a Frankie. One has red lips and the other had maroon colored lips. Then one of my Frankie's legs has extra plastic on it and the other's shoes are painted like a 3yr old did it. Scratch that. My 3yr old God-brother is better than the shoddy work they did! One had some purple gunk on her earring ans I haven't gotten it off yet.

I don't know what's going on, but the only dolls that seem right are the ones people hot when they first came out.

I think you're right. The ones I got a while back (as in a few months ago) look better than they do now. My sister got another Original Clawdeen because hers broke and the lips were different. One had reddish-maroon lips and the new one had dark purplish-maroon lips.

Also, has anyone noticed the hairstyle on Original Frankie has been done really badly lately? I'm glad I got her in August.

I agree the plastic has changed into cheap plastic I noticed it to but no one else seemed to. My Gloom Beach dolls were a mess. My GB Clawdeen's head fell off as soon as I cut the two plastic things holding her head into place. My GB Draculaura has bad legs and a huge hole in her mouth and you can't bed her legs and on top pf that her arm joints are loose and I can't move her hand like the old ones when you posed them. The plastic on my GB Draculaura's hand is hard and her hands are huge. I will sign the petition. I still have yet to call Mattel and place a complaint and see if they will be able to replace my two dolls. I can't find the GB dolls anywhere and when I asked Walmart they said that was their only shipment and didn't know when they would get another. I have never had problems with any of my dolls until GB came out but everyone else on here that's had them hasn't had anything like that happen. what is this skin flap everyone is talking about?

i gota gb draculaura off ebay. she is perfect. i found another gb draculaura so i could make a custom one. one of her arms is a compleately different plastic. itz really shiny. it bugs me, but the custom doll turned out really good.  besides the shiny arm, she good and shes my best custom doll so far.

sorry for my bad spelling

part of the skin plastic that wasn't cut off by the machines. or that is what i call it. i had some skin flakes onmy dolls that cam off easy. but my GB draulaura had the skin flap on her hands so her wrist wouldn't bend. but i cut that off and that took care of that problem. but my GB cleo's hands are really small. or like 10% smaller then the others hands.

has anyone else had a problem with shiny skin on their dolls? should i post a picture of it?

The Gloom Beach line is very cheaply made.

I was turning my GB Frankie into my persona custome and her leg shattered unde rthe joint. I barely bent it.

and GB clawdeens arm popped off where i cant pop it back on.

This is getting rediculous.

Think of the kids playing with these and you move your doll the wrong way and its in pieces.

I think it ridiculous how fragile these are and they are meant for kids.

Oh well! anyways I don't know if anyone else noticed this but the eye color for the dolls changed as well I hate when they do crazy stuff like that it used to bug me so much with the Bratz. Like Clawdeen's eyes are supposed to be yellow but they changed them to Orange. Frankie have changed too they gave her a lot lighter Blue eye and I'm not sure about the green one. LKC I have also had problems with the bed it wont stay up so when Frankie is sitting in it her bed goes the other direction all by it's self it wont stay in place at all, but I put it up against the wall so she stays right side up.

I was looking at my dolls today I mean really looked at them. One thing I noticed was that Frankie's stitches are messed up. I knew that the stitch on her face was a little faded towards the bottom. I could live with that, but the ones on her legs are mostly crooked and the sliver paint is outside of the lines.

I'm surprised I didn't notice this sooner, I usually do, but I've been so worried about one of her legs breaking off, I haven't really touched her.

Her hair is fine, but it seems to get static-y and stick up often, even if I haven't been near her.
