News and Reviews of Monster High Dolls, Plush Toys, and More!

Hey ghouls and mansters thanks for stopping by.
I thought I would set up this page to show case some of my work, which includes my fairies and mermaids which seem to be keeping me busy lately.

I love making unique ooak dolls and my work is comprised of dolls that I couldn't bare to let go as well as some commissions.

I am always open to discussion so feel free to contact me here or via any of the avenues listed below.

*Feel free to comment but please be aware that it is not just adults that are on this site, so please be kind to each other, nastiness will not be tolerated.*

This is Dee Dee Gorgan, she is an original character created by myself with the help of my partner's 7yo sister.
Dee Dee is the daughter of Euryale, making her Deuce's cousin.

{Does anyone know how to get that mark off her face? I have no idea what it is by 100% pure acetone didn't work, neither did a stain remover that I used. I had a great suggestion to cover it with scales which I think I will end up doing}

Cleo base: hair removed, air dry clay snake hair, new face up (used original eyes as base) arm scales, nail polish, glitter added to shoes (originally SS Ghoulia shoes), outfit purchased off Etsy.

Those rock!

I LOVE zeeva!!
They are all so amazing Zeeva is my favorite
Thank you all for the kind words. I'm so glad my work has gotten a stamp of approval! I can wait to finish off these dolls so i can get started on my new projects :)

So while most girlfriends ask they boyfriends for jewellery and other nice things all I ask of mine is if he could bring me some sand from work so I can make the mermaid bases lol

Stay tuned for the finished products <3

wow, those dolls are really kwl.. >////p>

i've only attempted once but i couldn't continue (or rather i didn't want to)

it ended up as a demon child ._.

but anyway great work <3

My first custom dolls (barbies) were hideous ( actually they were too pitiful to truly even qualify as hideous).  I think I would have given up if it weren't for three key discoveries:

1.  Super cheap dolls, mostly thrift store and garage sales.

2.  Tiny, tiny brushes - 18/0 and 20/0 brushes (from Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann fabrics, and other craft and hobby stores), and sometime eyeliner brushes.

and saving the most important for last

Aaaaaagh, my Nook froze up on me again when I tried to edit.  I didn't want to lose everything I wrote so I posted it, sorry!

3.  MAGNIFICATION.  I started with an inexpensive magnification visor, then bought another with multiple lenses.  Then I bought a magnifying lamp ( which broke a few years ago and I haven't replaced it - yet).  Eventually I'd like to get an Ott lamp.

Part of what drew me to the MH dolls was they're larger face, so I wouldn't need as much magnification.

The best thing you can do is to not give up!
When you are feeling stressed out you have to walk away as this is the key time when mistakes happen.
The more you practice the more you will enjoy making customs.
I'm still learning but my personality and the way I do things is I can't be bothered too much with "practice runs" because I just want to get good straight away lol
But the more you try the more you pick up on things, like what paint to use, how to mix paints and stuff like that and then you can experiment with with different mediums and details like using eye lashes (complete nightmare to stick on I had to go for a walk or I was going to start head butting things lol)

Any way thank you very much for your kind words and I hope to see some of your work soon :)
