Heheh I head canonned reboot Clawdeen as Clawdeen's sister or cousin, a slightly nervous girl who's new to the school. (her nervous eyebrows man hahaha)

I call her "Pawleen"

I can't quite bring myself to buy reboot Frankie though (her dolls are so.. bland... ) or Ari (Spectra where are you my girl!??)

Ari definitely replaced Spectra in their new reboot universe.

As I said before, I don't see these reboot dolls as Monster high dolls. As "a doll", Ari is not as bland as she seems when you take her out of box. The translucent shimmery material they used for her really makes her quite beautiful as a doll. She has the Spectra soft face mold and her nose. It is fascinating how the face paint can totally transform a doll's personality.

Spectra is one of my favourite Monster High dolls and the one who made me become really "obsessed" with this doll line. She is special to me. Before Spectra, I loved Monster High. After Spectra, I was hooked!

I was surprised to like Ari. I bought her out of curiosity. She was on sale extremely reduced. Maybe I like her because she has a bit of Spectra in her, hidden underneath the face paint! Who knows?

Love the close up of the gappy joint

This is just so disheartening! The Ghostly sleepover or whatever it is called... zero interest. That line is pure crap. As for The Ghostly Tea Party... Interesting idea but the design and execution have flaws and are disappointing. That said, I'm actually impressed this Ari, as much as I dislike the character in general. But there's something about this doll that makes her very enticing. I'd even dare to say she's gorgeous. Probably one of the best Ari so far. However, it should have been Spectra. I was the moment to bring her back/re-introduce her and once again, stupid Mattel passed the opportunity. Still, I might get this Ari anyway. Maybe even 2, so I can use those shoes with Spectra, the actual ghost queen of MH.

Btw... is it just me or would that superb afro have looked absolutely stunning on Honey Swamp? I can just imagine Honey with that afro hairstyle, and she'd be drop dead gorgeous. And Clawdeen's hairstyle evokes (and even scream) Operetta. Missed opportunities, Mattel. Shame on you big time!

Honey, Clawdeen or Howleen could have pulled off the poodle hair. On Ari it just looks weird right?

It is odd but my theory is she is based off of the ghost of Marie Antoinette. She has the tea party heels, fan and marie hair. That's my thought on why they chose Ari. lol But Headmistress would have been cooler because she is headless afterall or Honey really could have pulled it off but I'm pretty sure we will never see any characters other than the core 5, Abbey, Ari, Moanica, Twyla or Venus. Maybe a stray Howleen or Ghoulia but I'm pretty sure Monster High won't last past 2018 :(

Funny you said that. She reminded of Marie Antoinette the moment I saw her. I could even imagine the dress. Ari Antoinette, it sounds good! lol  Headmistress would have been too obviously headless lol and she is not a ghost, no mystery.

Ghoulia? I don't think so.

if only she had a long dress right? then the inspiration would make more sense but the short party dress doesn't mesh with the fan and hair and I thin that's what's confusing me. From a design perspective it just seems a bit muddled.

I don't think they were aiming at any Marie Antoinette inspired style. It just happened that she has that sort of vibes. She would look fantastic in a long dress. And Spectra loves those shoes...I hope I will find her. We never know, Smyths might restock Monster High??

Not convinced...

Honey would have looked so cool with the Marie Antoinette style hair, outfit and accessories... I agree Mattel doesn't think about the characters they put in the lines, they just randomly choose a couple it seems like.

omg I just noticed she has eye wonk!
