I started a group for those of us who like to make our own doll clothes, but haven't really had time to really start posting. You can check it out of you want.

I started this pattern ages ago... finally took my messy scratchy pattern pieces and traced them into something people can print. I haven't had time to print it myself and try to make a dress from the pattern (make sure nothing was lost in translation). So if you make this use scrap fabric for your first try... in case something needs to be adjusted.

You can see my first go at the pattern here: Viki Francun's Dress - WIP . You can see I added some ribbon details to the super basic pattern. So don't be shy... play around with it! :)

FOR SHOW ONLY... PRINT PDF ATTACHED!

Thanks!

I've tried these patterns and they take allot of tweeking to get them to fit properly.  there is zero seam allowance and when working with something this tiny, your sewing machine needs it!  I havent tried them with the narrow hem stitch on my serger yet, but my sewing machine has argued the whole way!

Did anyone send you any patterns?

I'm trying to perfect mine, then I'll post.

I think the easiest thing to do is to take a piece of paper pin a piece of doll clothing to it and cut around it. Then viola your fool-proof pattern is complete. I made a lot of clothes for my dolls both MH and not using patterns I made myself. My kimono's I made for my dolls all have the same pattern applied.

Do you take apart the doll clothing before doing this? [That may sound a dumb question but I have no training in this area]

C

Nope. Just open the velcro a little and pin it whole then trace it out with pen.

You can also use Barbie patterns and scale them down. This requires a scanner some knowledge of Photoshop but if anyone's interested let me know and I'll email the directions

I have been trying to do that but I haven't hit on the exact percentage to scale them down properly
