I am a Mom and I collect MH dolls with my daughter.  I was just wondering how many moms are collecting dolls with their daughters also and why?

I would but my daughter is 19 months old and I see what she does with the dolls I buy her now lol!! Maybe when she's older =)

I have been a doll collector for almost 20 years now, so my 3,5 year old daughter is surrounded by dolls...

She loves my MH dolls, so my hubby and I bought her a DT Ghoulia, which she loves, and she recently got a DT Cleo, she loves playing with them so I really hope she will become a collector, would be so much fun to go doll shopping together!!!

My 6 year old daughter is the one who hooked me on MH.  We both feel like the dolls are really unique, cute, and imaginative.  It is so much harder for me to tell her no when she asks for a MH doll than when she asks for anything else because I want so badly to get them for both of us!  Developing an interest in these particular dolls has definitely worked more to her advantage than if she had decided to like LaLaLoopsy, for example.

hi I do... I just think they are so cute too. The detail on the dolls are amazing and my daughter loves them and I just like her having the most up to date dolls

WHy do you do it??

gosh I love this doll but can't find her here.. GRRR great picture

My mom doesn't understand the dolls, but I'm also not a little kid anymore so the whole mother/daughter doll collecting wouldn't be as cute as it would be if I were 8 years old again.

I am! I got the first dolls, but my daughter just fell in love with them. Most of what we buy is for her, I just have a few dolls of my own on my bookshelf. Generally I'm happy to have it in the house whether it's "mine" or "hers".

To me MH is the best of both worlds, it has the sci-fi/horror/fantasy elements I have always enjoyed as a collector of action figures and the fashion/make-believe elements that my girls are drawn to in fashion dolls.

It's funny you say that, you sound like my husband -- he loves horror/monsters and so he's into them right along with us. He enjoys looking for them with our daughter and talking to her about monster stuff. He's not buying them....but I have a feeling 1 or 2 boys will end up on his shelves one of these days!! We were both toy/doll collectors back in the day so it's fun to have something all 3 of us enjoy.

I have 2 daughters.  One is 10 months and the other is 8 years old.  When the dolls first came out my husband honestly did not like them.  He didn't like the monster part of it and I thought it was weird for him to say that since he watched horror movies growing up.  She still loved the dolls and went on the website.

This year I decided to learn more about the dolls.  People are blinded by the appearance of the dolls (which I admit I was kinda) :) .  I hear all the time from people, you let your daughter collect those dolls.  The first impression of the dolls are what people see before they get to know about the characters and the brand.  My daughter and I have a close relationship.  When we collect the dolls we are spending more time together, talking, and sharing.  It is our personal time for her.  I want to be able to cherish this time I have with her (she wont be a kid forever :) ).  I can only hope that this will continue past her being a little girl even if she grows out of MH.

I collect with my eight year old daughter. She likes to change their clothes and brush the hair while I like to repaint them. We watch the webisodes together.
