as a memeber of the LGBT community I feel a strong need to have a prepresentative in doll form. The monster high dools appear as if they are trying to be different and edgy, so I think they would be the perfect doll series to have a gay and a lesbian character.
I want this so badly because of something that happened with my niece. I saw her playing with the monster high dolls and her sister was having the two girl dolls kiss. I thought it was cute and didn't think anything of it until the oldest shoved her sister and said "Stop it thats gross girls don't kiss girls!" I sat down with my niece and told asked her why she did that and she said it was because the diaries of the dolls said they liked boys so girls can't like girls.
I was shocked by this, I know for a fact she didn't get this from her parents because I've heard them openly talk about the LGBT community in a positive way.
With all the talk of LGBT issues like gay marriage , children need to be expose to LGBT people at an early age so they don't grow up ignorant. Having a doll to represent LGBT people will show people that LGBT people are people just like everyone else.
Whats the best way to make this happen and have a doll made?

By now I have no clue.
There are so many parents who are negative towards gay/lesbian couples. My old neighbors even stopped buying from American Girl when they started giving donations toward Girls. Inc (A nonprofit organization which supports underprivileged girls, but also promotes abortion rights and acceptance of homosexuality) and Mattel would receive many many complaints from parents who are afraid of their child "turning" gay. It's ridiculous, I know, but Mattel wouldn't want to risk losing that many consumers. I agree that Monster High would be perfect, showing that everyone is freaky fab no matter who they like.
I hope it should happen one day, but it may be a while before that day comes.

while I'm sure you mean well and all, and while I am all for LGBT, I can assure you that a gay/lesbian doll isn't going to happen, and I'll tell you why right now: it won't sell. I'm with Tegan on this one, Mattel already gets so much crap because of Monster High's "Edge", you can forget about something that still isn't openly accepted in today's media. People wouldn't buy it because, hey, most of them are still fairly close minded, so Mattel wouldn't have it made. The best you can hope for is an extremely effeminate male monster who "isn't currently interested" in any of the girls, a stag if you will. Or, if Mattel feels particularly bold, a kind of monster that changes gender in the full moon or something. RANMANSTER *shot* (kudos if you got the reference)
But hey, we're all hoping for the day when gay makes money. When it does, anyway, it'll be everywhere. because that's all that matters to big companies, unfortunately. Money.
I wouldn't worry about the nieces for now. they're just following canon (which is pretty confusing, anyway. so you've got to give them some credit.)
No. I disagree 100% . . .
And mattel isnt going to do that. Sorry but this is something mattel would never do . .
And dont hate on me. My opinion is my opinion. tyvm
Btw, I am not against gays. So dont think just because i disagree that im one of those 'idiots' who are against them . .

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the majority here;
Would love it.
Don't think it's going to happen.
These dolls already some controversy with their short skirts and the whole business with Clawdeen and her hairy legs. If those minor things can shake up controversy.... I don't think they'd risk an LGBT doll.
...
I really hope I don't sound to crude....
It is indeed Lillian! ooh boy. I loved that series, and I wasn't even into manga at the time.
But I digress. Gay isn't happening.
