News and Reviews of Monster High Dolls, Plush Toys, and More!

Ok.  So I know I am not the only one with animals (namely a dog with teeth that like to chew things).  What is the worst thing that has happened to one of your dolls?  Mine was to a OOAK repaint I bought on ebay for a very good price.  It was originally a Jackson and was turned into Darth Maul.  Before I got a glass case for my dolls they were all set up on shelves, which my lovely cats decided to knock over while I was at work lol.  This is a before pic of my Darth Maul And this is what I came home to.....

Oh wow... D:

My puppy chewed up my Gloom Beach Jackson's hand while I was on vacation in Seattle.

I use my dolls for stop-motion videos and Jackson is a reoccurring character in my vids, so I had to come up with a good excuse why he'll have bandages wrapped around his hand for the rest of the series.

Just another reason why I've been dying to get my hands on a basic Jackson. D:

Ouch..Well, Im glad I have my Basic Jackson along with my mangled foot Darth Maul version.  Luckily for me If I put his shoe back on..(which the dog took off and for some reason didnt chew it ???) he looks fine other than the chipped paint on his hands from falling off the shelf.

Oh, how sweet of your dog to kindly take the shoe off first, lol. (:

I think I'll just dress up my Jackson to look like a Street Fighter or Final Fantasy character or something...

But unfortunately, my puppy chewed up more than Jackson... He's just the one I'm the most upset about. 3:

She chewed up basic Frankie's shoes and my Gloom Beach Frankie is now fingerless.

Darth Maul-ed! Ouch!
I don't have any pets, but I do have friends who bring their pets over and I have all my dolls in my craftroom now where the door is always shut so they're safe! I would cry if one of my dolls got chomped, especially my customs. I even had my best friend 'babysit' my customs while I moved house as I couldn't face them getting broken in the move lol
I thankfully don't have dogs, but I do have birds. I have most of my dolls displayed on a shelf in my spare room and I worry about finding bird poo on them. Thank god I can at least shut the door when they are out. Lol I'm hoping one day I'll be able to afford a nice display case for them.
My dog has never chewed anything other than her bones
My cat loves to chew doll hands!!! So far she has chewed spectra, Skelita ,my CAM, and poor nefaras fingers right off!!!! Any won know how I can replace there hands?

Look on ebay for a cheap nude or broken doll.

I got clawdeen's bed for one christmas and a few months ago, i forgot to put it back and my dog got to it when I was at school. he Swallowed one of the gold skulls. i had to find out the hard because he was sick at that time and I found it when he vomited it up later.

Luckily my dogs are kept downstairs and my bedroom door is kept closed at all times anyway.  One time, one of them got in there and took the pieces to Spectra's first fashion pack (the chain dress) and found the iTomb and magazine left in the ziplock baggie (chewed open) the shoes on the floor, the headscarf in the hallway and I found the dress in the kitchen.  all pieces were intact and no bite marks thank God!

Oh my, what a horror stories :(

I have my collection safe in another room where the door is always closed, so they are pretty safe.

I do have one story wich is actually pretty sweet (doesn't involve MH, but I'll share it anyway).

My cat is not the most carefull animal, always knocking off things and such, and I have a collection of Sideshow statue's. When I got one of my first, a Mystique Premium Format, I did not have a safe place to put it yet, so it was standing on a not too high dresser in the living room where my cat could easily get. He would always get on the dresser, and carefully sleep next to her, often leaning on her base softly. Nothing ever happened to her, but it was just so sweet :)

Guess Girl24123 : You might wanna try the Mattel service site where they sell loose parts. They sell hands for pretty much every character there is.

I had this problem, not with my animals (I have three cats) but with kids. Originally both my fiance and I had our shelves displaying my Monster High and his Mattel WWE figures out in our living room, basically the first thing you'd see walking in. Between the two of us, we have 12 nieces/nephews and I have 3 very young cousins so it was a bad place for them. Mostly the kids would pick them up out of place, which wasn't so bad just annoying. Ironically, our families weren't the deciding factor. An ex friend of mine's son was a brat and would throw our figures/dolls across the room when they'd visit. (She would just tell him "no-no" from across the room and couldn't be bothered to take care of her own child. Thankfully nothing was broken.)

After that visit we decided not to be inviting them to our place, we'd go to them, and to move our shelves into our bedroom. Now our 19 month old daughter likes to sneak into our room (our fault for leaving the door open sometimes) and loves to take my Dead Tired Abbey. She also loves to knock down my shelf with the DOTD and DDG dolls if she has enough time. I'm thinking of getting her her own DT Abbey so she can leave mine alone. But of course kids usually like using their parent's stuff more because we take better care of our things, right?
