News and Reviews of Monster High Dolls, Plush Toys, and More!

I was wondering if anyone else had any dolls with flaws in them. I have trouble spotting face mistakes so now I look really hard at their faces before I buy them, but if their hair is messed up that's what really gets my attention.

I have a wave one Draculaura whose face is kind of messed up and her bangs look terrible, but at the time I wasn't that interested in her so I wasn't paying much attention.

The other big flaw I have in a doll (though I'm happy about it. It makes her seem special,) is my gloom beach Clawdeen, She has two left hands. I got her in the five pack with Ghoulia so I was paying more attention to how the Ghoulia looked than anything else, so imagine my surprise when I was taking them out of the box and Clawdeen was a double lefty! lol

Anyone else have any atrocious mistakes? or fun ones?

YES! I saw a rather hilarious one the other day, it was a poor Clawdeen wolf and her face was so badly smooshed she looked like the Geico cavemen.

I saw a Nefera last week that her eyes were set too far to the right of her face. It wasn't that noticeable. It actually looked like the eyes were in the right spot but her nose was too much to the left. But if you took a good look it was the eyes that weren't set right.

My Deuce has a reversed leg join on one of his legs.

Both Frankie and Clawdeen have these scratches on their legs.

That's about it, I've been pretty lucky considering paint jobs.

I have found dolls with make up smears on the inside of the box, but the worst one I saw as a DT Frankie with pink make up smears on the inside of the box and there was a chunk of it in her hair.

I got my first Abbey from amazon.com so couldn't inspect her before buying.  When she got here and I opened the box the glitter on her face was all clumped up on one side in a massive white blob.  Mattel replaced her for me, thankfully :)

The only other flaws I've had are minor make up imperfections which are pretty standard for most fashion dolls at this price point.  The Holt I just got has some annoying scratches in the lash area of his right eye so I might try busting out a small paint brush and some black paint to touch him up a bit.

Oooh, almost forgot my gemless DotD Cleo.

My Basic Deuce has two marks on his nose from paint from his glasses, and my Home Ick Frankie came without a stand, I don't know if that counts though. :P

Oh, and my Dawn of the Dance Draculaura has a weird bulging line on each of her thighes, I know it's just the seams of the plastic but hers are especially thick and noticeable. I don't know if that counts either though.

I think asking if we have dolls WITHOUT flaws would be the better question... LOL!

I buy a lot of smudged faced dolls because I get them for the outfits (I don't need 20 Ghoulia dolls!!). I just plan to repaint and possibly sell later. So a lot of mine have issues... the thing that upsets me most though is when the dolls I want to keep have crappy seams. I'm trying to find a good way to correct the issue because so many of my dolls have split seams... legs, arms, torsos... doesn't matter. Why Mattel doesn't make all the MH limbs out of molded vinyl I will never understand. The cheap hard plastic is always going to be an issue. >:(

Having no stand counts! I've had a lot of stands that didn't fit together right. My Operetta's really didn't fit together at all so I had to swap the bottom of it with another one to see if it worked, thankfully it did.

I also forgot to mention that I got a second DT Draculaura so i could put the newspaper club out fit on her and right before I was going to take her out of the box my husband was like "...why did you put her into a Frankie box?" I had that doll for like two months waiting until I could get the club outfit and never noticed that she was in a DT Frankie box the whole time lol.

My DOTD Ghoulia has a chip in her eye makeup, presumably from her glasses. Also my fearleading Cleo only has half of her little gem thing, but it looks really cool and unique.

Haha wow my girlfriend's gloom beach Draculaura has two left feet.

My GB Draculaura came with 2 left hands.  This was from the Target 5 doll gift set.  It's pretty funny.

Hey what a coincidence... so do I! LOL!

I think this is the first time I've heard of a doll having the wrong legs...
