News and Reviews of Monster High Dolls, Plush Toys, and More!

I don't know if anyone has broken a doll yet but my daughter's Frankie broke last night. I remember when dolls legs were put together leg to leg with a rubber band a hook then they moved to hip sockets. Well Frankie's legs have a piece of elastic holding hip to hip together, a real pain to repair!

Be careful with the dolls legs, it is no fun to fix, if you can........

My friends daughter broke three of her dolls.  She was bending their legs all over the place and not being very gentle but that is crazy.  I think Mattel meant for these to be collectible at first and didn't expect the craze.  It's sad that parents are running all over the earthy tryiing to find these dolls and then they break.  I hope you called Mattel to complain!

Somebody did a tutorial of how to fix when this happens. http://monsterhighcatzi.blogspot.com/2010/09/defect-legs-fix.html

Easy fix for the doll, hope it helps!!

same thing happened to my holt doll. i was just trying to get him to sit down them his leg pops off. and it kinda sucks that do to these really tight pants some dolls can't site fully. and i had my holt doll less then a week before his leg can off and i didn't really mess with him. =T.T=

might i ask what leg came off. i ask do to it looks like it's just the right leg that comes off.

These dolls are very fragile.  I see that they have improved the arm and hand sockets, but Mattel really needs to rethink the whole elastic leg band thing.

I'm a collecter and therefore my dolls don't really experience any normal wear and yet one of my dolls STILL BROKE. I had her for less than two months and only looked at her and brushed her hair and SURPRISE!

My Barbies never did this and they went through everything!

I called Mattel Tuesday to complain and tell them they need to do a recall.  They said they have no plans for a recall and have had no one else call.  That's a bunch of crap because four of my friends called over the past month with broken legs on their dolls.  When I called Tuesday, Mattel told me that I had to wait for an e-mail to return my doll and then HOPEFULLY they doll I want will still be in stock and they will ship a new one to me.  She said that she could not guarantee which doll I would get though.  Not too great on the customer service end these days!  As one person said, Barbies never broke like this!  Very sad.  Good luck and CALL MATTEL TO COMPLAIN!!!!!  THE MORE PEOPLE WHO CALL TO COMPLAIN, THE BETTER.  THEY MIGHT START MAKING THINGS BETTER.  I'm sure they're made in China like the rest of the crap made there.

No their made in Indonesia according to their boxes. None of mine have broken though, but I think the most common wya legs break are taking off clothes.  I wonder how some just break, they should just fall apart like that. If you bought yours from the internet maybe shipping did something to them.

But I never took off her clothes! *sobs*
Then it must be bumpy shipping since they also have to ship to stores too so you just picked an unfortunate bad one. I am lucky to get good ones so far.
Yah, I got her on eBay.
