That site is very fishy. Which is why I haven't ordered from that site.

I agree.I am going to file a complaint being as payment was through paypal.Just wanted to see if anyone had this experience. Will keep everyone posted.

I ordered her too, and I got no replies until I filed the paypal dispute. Then after that, I got no more replies. Just glad I got my money back =)

I ordered the B&W Frankie, Cupid, and SS Abbey from that site on 1/2/12 and they shipped out my order on 1/4/12. I should be getting them sometime next week. I plan on posting pictures once I receive them. I was once concerned that it was a scam but I think the seller is just new. The store opened on 12/28/11 so I am sure she is slammed with orders. I agree that the communications is a little bit slow and sometimes I do not get a response until I send another email. I was told by the seller that the dolls come direct from Mattel and that she ships within 2 business days after ordering. If you click on your order confirmation receipt in the email, it shows your the current order status. Mine shows that is has been shipped. I have asked for a tracking number but did not get one. Also I noticed that the store name has changed to A Doll's Life. I emailed asking why they changed the name and she responded that someone threatened to sue her if she does not change the store name. I guess another person has it registered. If I receive the dolls and they are not authentic, I will then file a PayPal dispute to get my money back. I know I myself with a few others on this site have taken the risk and ordering a few dolls. Let's hope the risk we took pays off. One thing for everyone to think about is why would someone try to scam you by using PayPal? If they wanted to scam you, they would either ask you to mail cash or wire money to them. Good luck to everyone that ordered from this site.

I ordered mine Dec.30th and have only received one response.I was told to look out for an e-mail 2 days ago with shipping confirmation.I have since sent several e-mails and no response.I am very concerned.I have looked at the status and it still says open not shipped.

That's what I keep telling myself - that it would be stupid to try to scam people using Paypal... After hearing that they changed their email address AGAIN, I went ahead and called Paypal this morning. The guy assured me several times that if I didn't receive my items I would get my money back. He said that if a seller has 1 or more recent sales that are less than 45 days old or open disputed transactions, they can't close the account - because you have 45 days from payment to file a dispute. He explained that even if the seller clears out their Paypal account to their bank account, dispute refunds will build up in their account as a negative balance - if the negative balance isn't taken care of by the seller, Paypal can send it to collections/take legal action.
He told me to wait a week and see if my item arrives before filing a dispute with Paypal... I've filed a dispute before on an item that I bought off of ebay. Once you file the dispute you have 20 days to escalate it or close it... or Paypal will close it for you assuming that you've received your item or the issue has been resolved by the seller.
When I buy something and I have a problem with the item or the sellers communication - I make a note on my computer calander and my Blackberry for about 6 weeks from the payment date reminding me that I'm running out of time to file a claim.

It's nerve-racking to not have a transaction like this go smoothly because collecting the dolls for my daughter and I, is stress and anxiety relief for me (though not so much at the moment with the lack of inventory here)... and I would much rather receive the dolls than my money back.

The only thing that continually nags at me is that I googled the phone number the "Customer Service Number" associated with the Paypal account and it's a cellphone out of Raleigh, NC... not New Haven CT.

I and the others who have their orders marked as shipped will wait for our orders to arrive. If they arrive and are not authentic, I will open a dispute with PayPal. I will also open a dispute if I do not receive my items. Scamming by using PayPal is not so smart. We will be getting our money back pretty easily if we don't receive our items.

I agree that it's stupid to scam using Paypal, because they aren't really scamming the people that are buying (aside from disappointment and inconvenience), unless they're counting on people forgetting that they ordered stuff until it's too late to file a dispute... which is why I just can't figure how someone would think this would be a profitable scam unless they didn't educate themselves about how paypal works.
The seller can go ahead and empty everyone's money into their bank account and leave a $0 balance in Paypal, but that won't stop Paypal from issuing refunds resulting in a negative balance in the account.  I was told that while Paypal can't reach in and take money from the sellers bank account, they can dispute with the seller's bank or send the negative balance to collections, but anyway not to worry about getting my money back if I didn't receive my items.
I'm not really worried about being "scammed"... I just hate the inconvenience, and I'm disappointed at the thought of not getting this doll, when I just don't see being able to get it elsewhere.
